We have become bigger than ourselves and need some help getting the word out! The Sin for Charity Street Team is now looking for ambitious, energetic members willing to donate their time to help us promote our organization and events.
As the Street Team, YOU are one of the most important components of the Sin for Charity organization. A fundraising event is nothing if no one comes! It’s impossible to do every thing at once, so we at Sin for Charity are relying on our friends and fans to help us get the word out. Being an active Street Team member (aka a Sinner) will not only allow you to volunteer your time to a number of fantastic charitable organizations, but you will also gain priceless promotional experience. You can make a difference!
To get started, please begin by reading the guidelines below then click here to complete our online form to join The Sinners!
Participation:
Sinners will be able to participate in event promotions on many different levels, so no matter what your schedule, there will always be a way to help out! For nearly every event, we will be looking for help putting posters up and distributing flyers, as well as doing online promotion on Myspace and Facebook. Street Team members must be 18 or older.
As a Sin for Charity Sinner, we expect you to actively promote our organization and events to everyone you know! Some ways you can get the word out are:
- Go door to door in your neighborhood promoting Sin for Charity and our events;
- Place stickers, flyers, and posters in your community (think windshields at grocery stores, bank, malls, etc.);
- Hand out flyers to people at local events such as fairs and farmer’s markets;
- Ask local proprietors to keep a stack of cards or flyers at their register;
- Get people to sign up for the Sin for Charity newsletter;
- Bring friends to events;
- Convince friends to buy Sin for Charity merchandise;
- Phone or write your local radio station and newspaper regarding Sin for Charity events;
- Post to forums, blogs, social networking sites, websites, bulletin boards, and other online media; and
- Maintain your own profile, blog, and/or website dedicated to Sin for Charity.
Please refrain from promoting Sin for Charity on websites that promote violence; discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age, illegal activities; or sexually offensive materials.
Printed materials will be provided on an as needed basis. Because we are a not for profit organization, our funds are limited. We will do our best to ensure you have the tools you need to continue promoting our organization and events.
From time to time, you may be asked to donate your time to help Sin for Charity staff promote at another local event. This is strictly on a volunteer basis, and you will not be compensated.
Street Team Communication:
We want to make our Street Team as accessible and interactive as possible. Many Street Team activities will be advertised through our Sinner Myspace page or our Facebook Fan page. Here you will be informed of new events and ways you can help our organization. It will also allow members to communicate with each other to find help with certain activities within their area. Add theses sites to your favorites and check back often to stay up to date.
Promotional Experience:
Being a part of the Street Team is a great opportunity to gain experience with promotions and marketing, while helping Sin for Charity grow from the ground up. If you are an active member, you will have something with which to build your resume, and the possibility of a reference in certain fields of employment!
As a thank you for your time and efforts promoting Sin for Charity and our events, you will be rewarded with:
- Discounts on Sin for Charity merchandise
- One free ticket/entry to every Sin for Charity sponsored event
- Email subscription to our Street Team newsletter with the insider scoop to what’s going on at Sin for Charity!
Benefits will be provided based on your amount of involvement so help spread the word! The Sin for Charity Street Team will be a place for each of you to participate in the organization’s growth. You can be sure that your input and help will be very much appreciated. Please feel free to contact Julia Jemo at jemo@sinforcharity.com for any reason with questions and concerns, or if you have any ideas for future Street Team events or promotions!
